Yes\u2026 a Christmas Elf has broken into each of our escape rooms<\/strong>, and they\u2019ll be hiding somewhere between 12th and 24th December<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your mission? But before you start wildly turning over every prop and accusing innocent furniture of harbouring elves, let\u2019s talk about where these tiny mischief-makers came from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unless you’ve been living under a rock \u2014 or inside a locked escape room \u2014 you\u2019ve probably heard of the Elf on the Shelf<\/em>. This tradition began in the early 2000s with a children\u2019s book of the same name\u2026 and then exploded into a worldwide festive phenomenon faster than Santa can say \u201cHo ho ho.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the original story, Santa sends magical \u201cScout Elves\u201d to watch over children and report back on their behaviour. Cute, right? You see, these elves move<\/em> every night, popping up in new locations with a level of enthusiasm unmatched by most adults after 1 December. Some elves fish for Goldfish crackers in the sink. Some zip-line through living rooms. Some leave flour snow angels on benchtops.
